Victor Wu has worked in the private equity industry for over 10 years and was a full time CEO in one of the portfolio companies for 3.5 years. Combining his experiences in deal sourcing, deal executions, portfolio management, and business operations, he believes the search fund model is perfect for him to pursue, especially when there are increasingly more SME buyout opportunities with succession issues in the maturing Chinese economy.
He has worked on both growth investments as well as buyout deals. During his time serving as a full time CEO of a portfolio company, he managed various departments and completed different projects (e.g., building of a new plant to expand capacity, enriching customers mix, implementing continuous improvement programs, and partnering with third parties to enhance innovation and product development capabilities) at the company until it was sold to other private equity funds. Before his private equity days, Victor was an auditor working at KPMG.
He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from CEIBS (exchanged at IESE) and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He is a Certified Public Accountant of the HKICPA. He also volunteers as a mentor at HKICPA and the University of Nottingham Ningbo China.
